Business Energy Supplier

Utilita

Overview

Utilita provide gas and electricity to both domestic and commercial customers using smart pay-as-you-go energy. Established in 2003, Utilita broke into a tough market with the vision of simplifying the service customers were receiving from the "Big Five". The company's aim is to build a business that puts fairness at the heart of all they do and has the courage to challenge the status quo to find better ways of providing essential services for the benefit of consumers. They wanted to help those households who were being badly served and overcharged. Their mission was a simple one: to offer consumers better service and a fairer deal. Today, they are the energy company of choice for 800,000 homes. Since installing Britain’s first smart meter in 2008, they have used the latest technology to give their customers more visibility and control of their energy usage than ever before. Their award-winning My Utilita app and smart meters have helped them save at least £500m since 2010.

They give their time, expertise and support to charities in every corner of the UK, raising almost £200,000 for The Prince’s Trust alone. From Cancer Research UK to local causes, our teams have clocked up thousands of miles in races from fun runs to marathons, grown their hair or shaved it off, worn fancy dress, entered the boxing ring and formed Full Monty-style dance troupes to raise charity cash. They have never been afraid to go against the grain. That’s why they are undertaking a national rollout of their high street Energy Hubs to offer the face to face service that customers prefer as they become the only supplier who can look you in the eye.
